INSTRUCTIONS TO INSTALL THE S.K.S HANDGUARD |

If anything we make fails due to our error, send it back for a same day warranty replacement To install your S.K.S handguard, follow these instructions. Turn the gas tube lever on the right side of the rear and lift it off the rifle. There is a 3/32" pin that holds the back cap on the tube. This pin is usually bradded in. Take a pin punch and and punch the pin all the way out to one side. This will allow the back cap to slip off and then you can remove the wooden handguard. We have observed a wide variation in the lengths of handguards. There has been eight or nine nations making the S.K.S and none of them used the same set of dimensions. So we had to standardize on the shortest one we found. If your handguard is loose in length you can tighten it with some epoxy on each end where the cups contact the handguard. To reassemble the gas tube you take the reverse steps except we have provided you a new pin. (You will probably destroy the original pin getting it out). To hold the new pin in place, apply some epoxy or locking compound around the pin. Once the rifle is assembled the pin cannot fall out. The rear sight holds it in. |
